Rule #244: Flippin’ a switch is all that stands between you and a delicious side dish.
This Easy Italian Rice recipe is as simple and delicious as it gets, y’all. All you need is a handful of ingredients and the beautiful flip of a rice cooker’s switch. You don’t have to have a little rice cooker to do this Easy Italian Rice dance though. You can also simmer it on the stove top Old School Style.
We have this rice cooker and absolutely love it! It cooks the rice perfectly every time with zero effort and mess. Just place a couple of paper towels in front of the cooker so the steam drops (I call them sputters) can fall onto them.
To make this Easy Italian Rice, just combine 2 cups of chicken stock, 1/4 tsp. Italian seasoning, and 1 cup of uncooked white rice in a rice cooker. Turn on the rice cooker and let it do the work! Don’t break a sweat flippin’ that switch. OR if you don’t have a rice cooker, combine these ingredients in a medium stock pot. Cover, bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low until the rice is cooked through (about 20 minutes). Fluff with a fork and serve!
The rice will be perfectly cooked and full of flavor in no time!
We garnish ours with a little chopped basil and Parmesan cheese. It adds just enough flavor to send this simple side dish over the top!
