Life Lately and What I Wore

Life Lately and What I Wore

Rule #109: When it comes to bracelets, you can never stack enough.

Easter was so much fun this year! We enjoyed a gorgeous morning at church, an early Easter egg hunt, a way-too-big breakfast with Streusel Coffee Cake and bacon, and then ended the day with a yummy dinner with family. I also FINALLY got to wear this dress I ordered last year during the Lilly Pulitzer sale (when I was pregnant – I took a big gamble, y’all).

Easter

Corey hunted his eggs the same way he did last year: slower than a turtle. It was hilarious! Jon Boy and I tried to instill that competitive spirit in him with a few “Come on, bud!”s but to no avail. He took his sweet ole time. I’m thinking that will change when his sister is big enough to participate. Then the real competition will be on.

I got to go to Corey’s Easter party at school, too! I can never get enough of bunny hates made out of paper and stickers and little babes eating sausage rolls and cookies with big smiles on their faces.

Easter Party

Speaking of little babes eating, we genuinely cannot survive a trip to H-E-B without some of those tortilla samples. The machine wasn’t working the last time we were there, and sweet bananas we barely got out of there alive. This trip was particularly special also because sweet Brooke got to ride in the big kid car with her brother. She loved every second! And I loved it too, because it meant I didn’t have to wear my human fanny pack and break my back as I usually do!

Sweet babies

The weather has been absolutely perfect (although the allergies can be a killer), so we’ve been lounging outside as much as possible. Brooke decided she needed to sport some fashionable shades to really get in the spring mood.

Corey’s been exceptionally sweet to Brooke lately. I had to snap this fuzzy picture last week when they were watching the Astros with their Daddy. These little moments make me think we need a third… and then I snap back to reality! Ha! At least for now, that’s not in the cards.

I’ve already worn this dress twice since I busted it outta the box a few days ago. It’s a comfy t-shirt dress WITH POCKETS that has a great line in the midsection that brings it back in, giving a flattering cut. It’s as comfortable as a mumu without making you feel frumpy. I dressed it up with some wedges for a Stacked Jewels Party and then date night.

I also wore it casually with these sandals. I love it when you can dress a piece up or down to make it work for whatever your day looks like.

If you haven’t heard of Stacked Jewels, you are missing out! All of her pieces are handmade and one-of-a-kind. Alyssa is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet, and her loving hard work shows in each of her gorgeous pieces! I had so much fun at her party. Here are the stacks I got at the party:

Stacked Jewels

Date night was much needed for me and this sweet ole Jon Boy! We had the best dinner at Redfish Seafood Grill (if you follow me on Instagram, you saw the ridiculously decadent spread we ate). I love getting to enjoy a meal with this hunky dude without needing to get anyone more water or having to dishes afterwards.

date night

This dress is another casual treasure! It’s under $30 and worth every t-shirt dress loving penny!

Caslon Off-Duty Knit T-Shirt Dress

This comfy dress was another great find! I’ve never had a Tommy Bahama dress before, but I’m a definite fan now. The dress is a great quality, the cut is flattering but not too tight, and the embroidered detail is so subtle and sweet.
