I’m way late in posting this, but… we had a baby boy! Corey Douglas was born November 24, 2015. We are absolutely in love!
He was a biggin’ weighing at 8 lb. 15 oz. and measuring 21 inches.
**Insert sigh of relief that he came early**
His original due date was December 10th, but because he was breech, we went ahead and scheduled a C-section for December 4. By about November 10, I was ready to get the show on the road. There was no room left in the inn, so to speak!
On November 24th, we went in for our weekly appointment expecting to hear that we’d have to wait a little longer before meeting our sweet baby. The doctor did the exam, and without missing a beat, she said, “Well. I think we’re having a baby today! I felt a foot!” –Talk about panic for this mama– I’m so grateful we went to the doctor that morning because as I was waiting to go back for surgery, I started going in to real labor. No bueno considering he was breeched. That epidural couldn’t have happened fast enough!
Here’s my view just before going back:
My feet were so beyond swollen. Not. Cute.
It was all worth it though because just look at this sweet baby boy!

I love me some monkey toes.
Brainwashing has already begun…
Daddy’s first feeding! Check out the hair on that kid!
We got to spend Thanksgiving in the hospital, and had an absolutely awesome time! I wouldn’t have traded that dinner for anything. It was really surprisingly delicious – the hospital even gave us a choice of turkey or ham. My mom, husband, and I got to eat surrounding our little bundle of adorable. We really needed that simple little dinner full of joy.
Here’s the sweet man when we’re leaving the hospital:
A few days later, we had some absolutely incredible newborn pictures taken by some very talented friends of ours.
I couldn’t have made it through pregnancy and child birth without this handsome man. He’s my rock and my everything. He makes a pretty damn good daddy, too.
