Gift Guide for Toddlers

Rule #59: ‘Tis better to give than receive.

We’re counting down to Turkey Day around here! Our turkey (we named him Tomosino this year) is about to get his brine on, the bread for the stuffing is drying, and tomorrow’s breakfast is being prepped. It’s a good day to rest-up and start thinking about shopping for all your favorite little people. I’ve rounded up some of the toys Santa is bringing to Mr. Corey as well as some of his faves that would be great gifts for toddlers!

Melissa & Doug Fire Fighter Costume

This is definitely on Corey’s Santa List. It’s adorable! I can’t even handle that cute little fire extinguisher. Here’s another one with even more pieces.

Thermos Funtainer

We have 5 of these cups for Corey, and they’re wonderful! They’re durable, keep drinks cold, and don’t leak. All the parts can go in the dishwasher, too, to get rid of all those kiddie germs. We’re getting Corey this dinosaur pattern, but there are about a million on Amazon! We also use these adhesive labels on his cups so they’ve got his name on them when he’s at school, church, the gym, whatever.

Felt Christmas Tree ($13)

I’d love to get one of these for upstairs! I’m not quite ready to get a ‘Kids’ Only Christmas Tree’ yet, so this is a great (cheap) alternative.

CAT Dump Truck ($14)

Gotta love a good dump truck. They’re perfect for busy-bodied little people who need to burn off some energy. CAT is always a good brand, too!

Mr. Bubble Bubble Machine ($15)

A good bubble machine is a true gem. They’re perfect for little people and dogs alike! We use ours almost every time we’re out back playing.

LEGO Duplo Excavator Set ($16)

Corey’s been loving his Duplo Train Set we got him for his birthday, so we’ve added a few of these cute sets to his Santa List. It’s awesome to see their brains work to create their own little world. He also got a great dinosaur set for his birthday from our sweet friends, and a great set of traditional Duplo blocks, too! We bought him this fire truck set, too! This police set is only $9, and Santa will most likely be delivering it on Christmas morning!

Nerf Strongarm Blaster ($13)

I know this is going to be a little ‘controversial’ for some of you folks, but we love a good Nerf gun in our house. This one is a decent price and has over 4,000 reviews and a 5 star rating. Imma trust Amazon on this one, y’all. You can also get this cool target set for practice. And there’s a 30 dart refill just in case you want more ammo.

T-Rex Toy ($18)

We got this big handsome fella for Corey because he’s really into dinosaurs these days. The jaw moves up and down to get that real chomping action going.

Melissa & Doug Cleaning Set

Corey has had this set for a while now, and absolutely LOVES it! It’s a durable set and legitimately will CLEAN YOUR FLOORS, y’all. Corey goes to town with that duster, and it makes my clean-freak-heart so happy!

Dyson Vacuum

This is another cleaning toy that Corey loves. It actually has a container to collect dirt because it sucks up stuff as the kiddos are playing with it. It’s a very lifelike vacuum, and Corey’s obsessed with it. He busts it out whenever Jon Boy starts vacuuming (because Mama don’t vacuum).

Melissa & Doug Hide and Seek Puzzle ($12)

Love me a good puzzle. This one is pretty creative because there are pieces that go inside the little flaps. They’re magnetic, too, so clean up won’t be a disaster. This other one is perfect for sensory development because it’s got latches and fun things like that.

Deluxe Medical Kit

This is another Corey-Approved toy. He practices his medical skills on us all the time. The stethoscope is a lot of fun because when you press the red button, you can hear a ‘heartbeat’. Corey used to listen to the baby in my belly when I was pregnant.

Kitchen Playset

If you’re looking for a bigger gift from Santa, a kitchen playset is a great way to go. Corey has fun cooking for us all the time. This Step2 brand is very durable, too. Here’s a good set of play food to stock the kitchen.

There Was an Old Dragon

This was a gift from Corey’s GiGi, and it’s one of my favorites of all time. It’s a funny story similar to There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly.

Sandra Boynton Books

Sandar Boynton is hands-down my favorite kids’ author. Her books are very entertaining and catchy. We’ve got almost every one of them, but I have a feeling Santa will be brining more this year.

A Treasury of Curious George

Another Corey favorite. Curious George is a classic and a must-have in any kiddo’s library!
