Life Lately + Great Finds

Rule #113: Sometimes we all need a little break  to drink wine out of a Pringles can and  drive around the Walmart parking lot in  a motorized cart.

Our little sassy pants is already 4 months old. I can’t believe it! That little finger and the raised eyebrows tell me we’re in trouble. This little miss is going to be a handful. I feel like she’s pointing at me saying, “Wait, what? You actually think YOU’RE the one in charge here, mom? Ha. Just wait.”

I’m happy (and also slightly embarrassed) to admit we just now (after 2 1/2 years) hung curtains in the last remaining room in our house. We had the curtains, the rods were hung months ago, but we just never made it happen. It’s kind of frightening how much these kinds of chores get on my nerves when left undone. I feel like a piece of chaos has been settled. And lemme tell ya, being able to violently cross this to-do off the list was a major upside of my week. (PS – I think I need better hobbies if this gives me this much satisfaction…)

We got Brookie all labeled up with some cute InchBug labels so we know what stuff belongs to her when we head to church, the gym, and all those other places where they’ll watch your kids for a little bit so you can get some sanity back. This luggage tag is so stinkin’ cute and kind of fits the theme of her nursery!

I also ordered some adhesive labels similar to the ones we got for Corey a while back. They’re dishwasher safe, and they’ve stayed on Corey’s cups for over two years now! You can customize them anyway you want, but we went for the simple name + color + font situation to make it easy to read.

Speaking of Brookie, I finally snapped some pics of her finished nursery! I’m excited to (hopefully) share the final product later this week.

I’ve been living in this sweatshirt + leggings lately. The shirt is a great steal at only $18. I ordered a medium for reference. It’s nice to have something decently cute to throw on and run around town in that doesn’t make you look like a sleep-deprived Jabba the Hutt.

These sneakers are also on repeat lately. Super comfy and perfect to slip-on and get all your stuff done for the day! They come in a ton of colors (including leopard), too!

Another thing on repeat are my Vital Protein Collagen Peptides. I just throw a scoop into my hot coffee every morning, and then I sip and enjoy the benefits. I’ve seen a huge benefit in my eczema and overall skin tone. It also helps to promote healthy nails and hair. It’s been wonderful to have this with all the postpartum “happenings” every woman experiences in the hair department.

I’ve added one more step to my skincare routine, too. I love these 1 minute, 1 step facial peel treatments. At first I was a little wary of these little guys, but now, we’re becoming fast besties. All I do is wash my face, pat dry, apply my eye cream, then wipe one of these treatments all over my face. I let it dry for a couple of minutes, and then I finish with my night cream. The directions say to start with 3 a week and work your way up to daily use. The best part is you can start by buying just 10 to see if they work well for your skin!

Our sad little mantle was bare for a couple of weeks after we took down our Christmas decorations. That was partly because I was a tad bit depressed about having to take down the pretty reds-and-greens-and-golds but also because I was just lazy (let’s be honest). I’m glad this stuff is up for the rest of winter + spring though!

I had to share this one. My mom brought me the funniest wine glass to commemorate my little stage of life. I’d like to give tribute to the cute jumping toddler in the background for making me the Momster I am today.

As you can probably tell from my recent posts, we’re on the low carb diet train (cue a less-than-enthusiastic “choo-choo”). I miss my pasta and bread and Goldfish and mac-n-cheese and all the other goods. I’m already noticing great results though, so I’m gonna keep pushing through. This was one of my favorite recent low carb (and easy) dinners: Taco Bowls with Cilantro Lime Cauliflower Rice.

I have to end this little hum-drum-Tuesday post with a shoutout to the woman who was banned from Walmart after she was found drinking wine out of a Pringles can and driving around the parking lot in an electric cart. I’m still cracking up at the thought, and I’m slightly jealous she thought of it first. I guess she really needed a few minutes to herself to just mozy around and ponder life’s little issues. Cheers to her. If anyone’s looking for a fun night on the town, I’m not opposed to trying these shenanigans in the Costco parking lot. I’ll supply the wine if you’ll supply the Pringles.

I hope you enjoyed this Life Lately + Great Finds post! If you did, check out these other similar posts.
